    Renee is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, with an Associates Degree in the DARC (Drug and Alcohol Recovery Counselor) at Gateway Community College, Bachelor’s Degree in Individualized Studies from Charter Oak State College and a Masters in Human Services 2015 with Distinguished Mention at Albertus Magnus College. Renee specializes in treatment with adolescents with substance abuse and co-occurring related disorders. Her experience includes Intensive Outpatient group settings, individual and family therapy. Renee has worked at The Children’s Center in Hamden Ct. for 18 years in the capacity of Intake Coordinator, Director of Admissions, Substance Use Specialist and presently Outpatient Substance Use Clinician. Renee has supervised and trained multiple Interns over the last 18 years that have gone on to successfully pursue their own careers in the field of Addictions.

    Renee utilizes a combination of Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Evidenced Based ACRA (Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach in her practice. Renee is also a certified SMART Recovery Facilitator. Renee is a firm believer in humor and laughter as the best medicine and meeting each person where they are at in their journey. In addition, each person is unique and it is of utmost importance, we treat them in the manner in which THEY wish to be treated.

    Renee enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family, including hubby, 3 sons, 2 grandchildren. and last but certainly not least 3 golden retrievers and her kitty cat. She enjoys nature and physical exercise in the great outdoors and never met a crossword puzzle she didn’t like.
