Michael A. Szot, LPC Intern
Michael is a 22-year Navy veteran and wounded warrior. In his last four years of service, he founded, co-authored, and established the first-of-its-kind initiative to have active duty success stories of recovery come forward and share their stories to audiences from as few as ten to over three thousand military personnel and providers to de-stigmatize seeking help. Michael has a bachelor of science in leadership from Trident University, which he attained in his last two years of service. He is also a certified SMART Recovery facilitator. Michael is currently a graduate student at Sacred Heart University for Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LPC).
His approach is a foundation of person-centered theory and various cognitive theories like REBT, CBT, and Reality Therapy. Compassion is the cornerstone of his methodology and ensures the client’s safety through a collaborative effort and a caring professional therapeutic relationship.
