Maria Brereton, LCSW
Maria is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds a BSW and MSW Degrees from Southern Connecticut State University where she is currently an Adjunct Professor. Maria has worked in the public child welfare, foster care, outpatient mental health and substance use programs. She holds a post graduate certification in Adoption practice and has been trained in trauma work.
Maria values working collaboratively with her clients, developing solid engagement and the concept of self-determination to help clients achieve their mental health goals. Maria has experience working with families and individuals in crisis and working towards stabilization of the crisis situation in collaboration with her clients. Maria focuses on person-centered treatment and values building a rapport.
Maria lives in the Greater New Haven area with her husband and she is the parent of two adult children. She enjoys cooking, movies and spending time with friends and family.
